Brandy & Monica ‘The Boy Is Mine’
what a cat fight.
I don’t think I could love this more! Such a great 90s song! And a great illustration!

Big Blue.
A beautiful land-rover I spotted recently parked at a nearby park. Love the colour of it, and the little bits of dirt, rust, wear and tear make it an extra interesting subject.
Probably one my favourite photos that I’ve taken. Hope to bump into many more like this one!
Postie Presents!
My lovely smoking tin finally arrived from America. For a while I’d been looking for a tin which would easily fit a business card, ideally with as little extra space as possible. This style of tin seems to be unique to the USA, and so far its the best solution I have found. The fact that it opens on the top and the cards can be ‘poured’ out is a really nice touch!
It also mysteriously came with a second tin inside it…I’m not sure if this was accidental, but it was a pleasant surprise! It’s a tin which used to hold laxatives…has a lovely yellow & black diamond pattern, but it’s not the best image to have in mind!
Also in the post came this lovely little book full of quotes from many wild & wonderful designers. Can’t wait to get reading it.
And what do you know? As I was writing this I was thinking “God, I really hope Ellen Lupton is in it, she’s my favourite!”. I swivel round in my chair, grab the book, and open it onto a page and there she is! I love this book a lot more just for that little gift.
In The Red 11 - Pictograms
A collection of pictograms I produced during my work on the ITR11 magazine. With the overall design of the magazine remaining very much contemporary, I really wanted to imbue a sense of the history & past of writing, without doing anything that appeared out of place in the magazine.
So I settled on pictograms. With their clean lines and ability to be legible at almost any size, they were well suited! I used them in the bottom corners of the page, to draw the eye towards the pagination, and provide an anchor point. I used 7 different pictograms in a repeating series to create a comfortable pattern throughout the spreads.
The top image shows 7 of the pictograms used in the magazine, whereas the bottom displays some which weren’t chosen for various reasons.
Purple Glove
You guessed it, another glove.I know that I’ve mostly been photographing my lost objects throughout winter and spring, but still. The number of gloves that I find is honestly astounding.
This stunning Pocket Watch designed by People People is grabbing the attention of many with its super minimal approach. The designers behind the watch made a deliberate choice to develop a pocket watch rather than a wristwatch, the preferred modern approach of keeping time. They aimed to cite the evolution of the timepiece to primarily a personality statement worn less and less for practicality.
“A watch is something that fits into people’s frame of reference, even though the function has gone from showing time to showing style.”
Absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been looking for a pocket watch for a fair while!

Glove of Doom!
Well not really…perhaps in the right light this glove could look menacing, but I’m sure he’s got a lot of warmth to give!
Found this sucker whilst walking along the edge of Grasmere in the lake district. Lovely place, and plenty of lost objects to boot!
In The Red 11 - Endpapers
The first upload of the work I did for the ITR11 publication. I produced a number of pictograms for use in the magazine, and was able to use these again to produce endpapers to use at the front and back of the publication.
Although the content very much has a contemporary feel to it, I wanted to imbue the magazine with a bit of heritage, and so I chose to produce pictograms of the ‘old school’ materials and technologies that surrounded writing in times past.
The pictograms include; a typewriter, journal, fountain pen, quill, and pencil eraser amongst others. I feel they add a nice touch to the magazine, as each is highly recognisable and has its own little themes and memories associated to it.
Will be posting some photos of the physical magazine in a few days time!

A Dog Called Jack - A few photographs
On and off, lazily and determinedly, I’ve been collecting photographs for a book I’d like to work on for about 6 months now. I’ve been building up a collection of photographs, both of my dog jack, and the places my father and I walk him.
I’m lucky to have one of the most beautiful, friendly, obedient, lazy and stubborn of dogs, and I want something to remember him by. So, here’s a few of my favourite photographs taken this year (of a dog I find notoriously difficult to photograph).
I’m really pleased with some of the photos I’ve gotten so far this year, but, I’d still like to get many more. And I’d like diversity too, I need to get more shots of Jack’s crazy log fetish, and some action shots too.
All in all, I’m really looking forward to it.
